The day my niece performed this beautiful solo I was so excited and proud of her. But as myositis life goes, I fell and broke a bone in my leg and couldn’t make it. I was heartbroken.
My niece is 18 and has never seen me healthy. She has looked to me for strength and determination as I fight this tiresome, horrible disease without really complaining too much. My beautiful niece was going through a lot at school and being bullied. She was really depressed and I sent her the song that she sang in the video, Rainbow by Casey Musgraves. I just wanted her to see the beauty in herself that I see.
When I saw the video and heard her song choice I realized just how strong of a person she had become. She chose to face her bullies every day and she came out a better person because of it. She will never know how proud of her I am.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
